This summer, I was reintroduced to the fine edible delight of steamed mussels with white wine and Spanish chorizo! I was on a portrait assignment in Tuscon, Arizona of all places. We dined in this small restaurant filled with locals. Their food was amazing. I’ll be sure to post their info once I remember the name of the restaurant. Anyhow, their steamed mussels dish was something to remember. Since then I have craved the taste so much that I decided to try a similar dish on my own. The recipe is so simple anyone can do it. It can be labor intensive when it comes down to debearding and soaking the mussels but it so well worth it!
